New prayer group for under 30s
By Emma Haggar
Prayer is the most powerful weapon we have in our arsenal as Christians. It can, and does, transform people's lives; it brings us closer to God and enables us to see things from God's perspective. When one person's life changes as a result of being prayed for it becomes like a wave, billowing out and transforming other people, whole families, groups of friends, classes and workplaces.
Y4Ipswich (Youth for Ipswich) is a facebook group which aims to bring together young (under 30yrs) Christians to pray for our town.
As I write this article, we have just held our first ever Virtual Prayer Meeting (small trumpet fanfare please!) where a few of us logged on to our facebook group and raised our prayers to God through typing them into something called 'group chat'.
This enables all members to type their prayers and read everything everyone else types! In other words a prayer meeting that you can attend from your own home, sitting on the bus on your mobile, looking after your children or sitting in your university room halfway across the country.
We want to see God do amazing and awesome things in Ipswich and the best thing we can do to bring that about is to ask Him. If this sounds like something that you'd like to be involved in, please email me on emmahaggar@btinternet.com
Network Ipswich also has its own Facebook group; click button on Home page to find it - Ed |
